A night in the park with Garth
Before the stadium concert at Petco Park in San Diego, my wife and I had seen Morgan Wallen perform at the Ryman last November with our adult children. We wanted to manage my wife's expectations since the energy might not be the same in a larger venue. We arrived early, around 4:30, got a sweatshirt, some water, and sat...and sat...and sat. As we waited, we reminisced about past concerts and watched the stadium slowly fill up. I was a bit concerned that the venue wasn't filling up much, but the positive energy around us was uplifting. About 15 minutes before the scheduled start, only 40% of the seats seemed filled. However, as the concert approached, more people filled in around us. When the concert started, the attendance was surprisingly high, and the energy was incredible from start to finish. We enthusiastically sang along to almost every song, even if it sounded like yelling. Having seen Morgan Wallen perform in various settings, we can attest that he always exceeds our expectations.
